A Spooktacular Trip to the LibraryLakewood Elementary Second Grade Students Visit Lake Odessa Library
It was a BOO-tiful fall Friday for a trip to the library. Lakewood 2nd grade students enjoyed fall crafts and a monster hunt. Thanks to our friends and partners at the Lake Odessa Public Library, it was a lively, learning time for kids.
Public library assistants, Ms. Julie and Ms. Janet led our students through a fun craft, helping them make monster puppets. Pipe cleaners, fur, google eyes, and creativity brought monsters to life. “That’s a good idea!”, “Oh that’s spooky,” were just the right positive affirmations to keep excited kids focused and on task.
Teams of students then accompanied their monster puppets on a hunt through the library, looking for clues to form a word and solve a fang-tastic fall puzzle. Our libraries are at the heart of the Lakewood community, we are deeply grateful for the collaborative partnership and welcoming environment they provide. Together, our common goal of facilitating a love for reading, curiosity, and learning in young students builds a strong foundation for their success. Special thanks to the library patrons for pardoning the extra energy during our visit, we appreciate your kindness!
We encourage all families to visit your local library, it’s a FA-BOO-LOUS experience!
