Draw a map of your house and on it show all the windows and doors. We always want 2 ways to escape from a room. Take a walk around your house and make sure all your windows are in good working condition and open easily. Make sure you have WORKING smoke alarms and that you test them once a month. Pick a meeting place outside and away from the house that everyone will meet at in the event of an emergency. Do you have house or building numbers that are easily seen from the road (?) Make sure all your kiddos know how to dial 911 and practice, practice, practice your home fire drill.
