Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, has announced the election of Dr. Todd Pitts to its Board of Directors. Dr. Pitts is a chapter advisor and Faculty Athletics Representative at Davenport University.

He will replace Michael Bazemore, Director of Athletics at Montana State University Billings, who will leave his position at the end of the 2023-24 academic year. Dr. Pitts expressed his enthusiasm for joining the board: "I am excited and honored to be a part of an organization that supports and recognizes the academic and athletic accomplishments of student-athletes across the country," he said.

The board consists of seven members associated with chapter membership, each serving four-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms allowed. Their responsibilities include evaluating proposed bylaw changes to support Chi Alpha Sigma's mission and vision.

Executive Director Kellen Wells-Mangold welcomed Dr. Pitts to the board, stating: "I have enjoyed engaging with him over the years as the chapter advisor at Davenport and look forward to the knowledge and perspective he will bring to Chi Alpha Sigma as he takes on this leadership role."

Dr. Pitts has been teaching at Davenport University for 20 years, where he serves as both Faculty Athletics Representative and Chi Alpha Sigma chapter advisor for their athletics program. Additionally, he is involved in DU's study abroad program and holds a committee position with the Michigan Statewide Sport Management Conference Association (MSSMA). Notably, he is the first Faculty Athletics Representative elected to serve on Chi Alpha Sigma's Board.
