Davenport University is set to host the Davenport Powerlifting Workshop on Saturday, September 14th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event aims to provide powerlifting athletes, coaches, and enthusiasts with insights from leading experts through hands-on training and educational sessions.
The workshop will feature a comprehensive schedule focused on practical technique training and expert-led presentations. Julianna King, owner of Fortitudo Fitness and coach for The Strength Guys, will offer instruction on squat technique. Sean Noriega, USAPL Pro Card Holder and owner of NORi Powerlifting, will lead a session on bench press technique. Jeremy Hartman, owner of Hartman Performance and 2023 National Coach of the Year for USA Powerlifting, will focus on deadlift technique.
Michael Bress from Bress & Barbell will discuss mental health's impact on athletic performance. Dr. Jeremy Orme from Momentum Powerlifting will cover powerlifting rules and competitive strategies. Ben Esgro from Elemental Formulations will provide insights into supplements for performance enhancement and recovery.
Dr. Brendan Papin from Momentum Powerlifting will address pain management and injury rehabilitation methods. Julianna King will also lead a session on inclusivity, equity, and ethics in powerlifting. Jeremy Hartman will assist attendees in identifying weak points in their lifting techniques while Sean Noriega will offer strategies for optimizing powerlifting programming.
The day will conclude with an interactive Q&A panel featuring all guest speakers.
