5% of Ionia County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Ionia County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,603 people out of the 66,564 living in Ionia County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Ionia County has decreased compared to the 5.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Ionia County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.2%.

Of the 30,425 people who had a job during that time, 42 were employed in the Armed Forces and 30,383 belonged to the civilian labor force.
