Salmon in the Classroom is not just another science activity, but a very interactive, participatory program in which students raise salmon and ultimately are responsible for their survival and release. Students raise salmon to release while learning about many aspects of Science including water testing, anatomy, invasive species, ecosystems and more. You can learn much more about this project here.
Mr. Janetzke's Middle School students and Mr. Fezzey's students at Westwood are both participating in this project this year, and they received their eggs earlier this fall. The live streams are below where you can watch the salmon progress from egg to alevin to fry over the next few months. Be sure to check back frequently between now and the release in late Spring.
