Title: Paraprofessional –PBIS Intervention
Reports To: Building Principal
Employment Status: 7.5 hours per day
Qualifications:
· Four-year college degree preferred.
· Minimum of two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education required.
· The use of effective and acceptable techniques of human relations in dealing with students, staff members, other school officials, parents and the general public.
· Ethics - The ability to treat school matters as confidential information.
· Typing and other office skills (25 wpm.)
· Experience working with secondary students preferred.
Essential Duties:
· Work under the supervision of the building administrator to provide support to students.
· Work with at-risk students on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of students.
· Assist students with behavioral expectations and think sheets, including the use of restorative practices.
· Support and grow school-wide PBIS program.
· Assist with attendance and truancy issues.
· Provide morning, lunch or 2nd recess playground supervision, as needed.
· Build and maintain appropriate relationships with the student, parents and school personnel.
· Maintain records as indicated by administration.
· Any other duties as assigned by building administration to support the success of at-risk students.
Evaluation:
Performance for this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal in accordance with the Belding Education Support Personnel Association Master Agreement.
