March is Reading Month Story

Reading

Lakewood Public Schools issued the following announcement on Mar 29.

Superintendent Skalka and the Incredible Ned…Who Could See What He Said!

March is Reading Month Story at Lakewood Early Childhood Center

Today, Superintendent Skalka shared and read a magical book, Incredible Ned, authored by Bill Maynard.  This uplifting and colorful tale is about a boy named Ned who has a unique gift and learns to express himself with a paintbrush.  Filled with rhymes, imagination, and beautiful illustrations, the story made our young readers laugh and learn that each of us have unique talents and abilities.  Our students really love having a guest reader in the classroom.  The grown-ups seem to enjoy it too! Guest readers provide huge benefits for kids because it’s a great way them to hear fluent reading, inflection, and build a love for reading and exploring stories.

We thank all of our educators, and staff who have made March is Reading Month fun and motivated our students to take pleasure in a good book.
