Local State of Emergency Declared

State of emergency

City of Owosso issued the following announcement on Feb 2.

Due to the large accumulation of snow, with more snow expected, Mayor Christopher T. Eveleth has declared a Local State of Emergency for the City of Owosso until 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022.

The City is instructing residents to remove parked vehicles from streets and refrain from parking along street curbs so DPW crews can effectively clear snow from streets. Residents without a place to park vehicles may use City parking lots without penalty until the state of emergency expires.

DPW crews are working diligently, and will continue working throughout the night, to keep major roadways clear.
