City of Caro Fire Department issued the following announcement on Jan 19.
The members of The City of Caro Fire Department are saddened to announce the passing of active fire deptartment member , Fred Galsterer. Freddy was a proud, dedicated, and courageous memeber of the dept for over 45yrs. Fred served many rolls over his years on the dept including Firefighter, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Engineer. He was not only a brother in service but a friend, a book of knowledge, and a mentor to many.
You will be missed brother but never forgotten.
