City of Belding issued the following announcement on July 20.
The City of Belding is currently seeking a Director for the Dial-A-Ride department. This position will over-see the Dial-A-Ride Departments day to day operations as well as maintaining a relationship with the MDOT Office of Passenger Transportation. This position is a salary position, with 40 hours per week to be spent dispatching for 8 hours a day, while maintaining the department as well.
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or Equivalent
-Customer Service Experience Highly Preferred
-Supervisor Experience preferred
-Microsoft Office Experience
-Multi-Line Phone Use
-Must undergo background check and drug test
-Chauffer’s License preferred but not necessary right away
Responsibilities:
-8 hours fielding calls and dispatching to drivers
-Scheduling drivers and dispatch to cover hours of operation
-Keep track of maintenance needs for vehicles and buildings (Depot and Garage)
-Order/buy supplies for busses and buildings as needed
-Maintaining a strict bus maintenance schedule
-Timely reports sent to MDOT quarterly, annually, and as needed
-Purchasing vehicles and equipment through the process set forth by the MDOT OPT
-Maintaining all records of operations for both the city, and the state
-Administer scheduling for random drug testing to maintain compliance
-Attend all relevant City Council meetings to advocate for your department and maintain a relationship with council
-Attend bi-weekly Staff Meetings to keep the City Manager and Council up to date on departmental goings on.
