CALVIN UNIVERSITY: Winter Goosechase Challenge to be held December 20

Zz

Calvin University issued the following announcement.

WINTER GOOSECHASE CHALLENGE

December 20, 2020–January 3, 2021

Ecosystem Preserve & Native Gardens

Looking for some outdoor fun during the holiday break? Play this game of entertaining missions at the preserve with assistance from your smartphone! GooseChase is best played with a team of two or more people but can be played individually. For every task your team completes, you earn points. At the end of the challenge period, the top teams will be awarded a prize.

We are offering two games:

The Winter Fun Challenge is for all ages and is filled with amusing and interesting tasks.

The Winter Naturalist Challenge is for those wanting to test a bit of their knowledge of nature.

The DetailsHow: Download the free GooseChase app for iOS or Android. Choose to play as a guest or make an account. Search for the game by name by typing "ecopreserve." After you choose a game, follow the prompts to create your team. Be sure to note the provided access code if your teammates want to join the game on their phones. The app saves your accomplishments as you go, so you can participate in a challenge during more than one visit.

Prizes: Calvin maple syrup, Calvin honey, an autographed copy of the book Wild Hope: Stories for Lent from the Vanishing by Gayle Boss, and a $25 gift certificate redeemable for plants from our spring Native Plant Sale

More Prize Info: If many teams finish the challenges, all the top teams will be entered into a drawing for one of seven prizes. You may compete in both challenges for a chance to win two prizes. If you win, you will receive an e-mail providing instructions on picking up your prize at the preserve at most any time convenient for you.

Offered in partnership with Calvin Alumni Association.
