The City of Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Nov. 23.

The 2020-2021 edition of the City of Grand Rapids’ annual Winter Preparedness Guide is out with tips on how to prepare households for seasonal services and emergencies.

The twelve-page guide helps residents prepare for the winter months and provides important information about the City’s seasonal services. It answers questions regarding seasonal issues such as snow plowing, seasonal parking restrictions, holiday refuse collection and Christmas tree recycling. This edition also covers new topics including:

House fires and alternative heating sources

Emergency preparedness and emergency kits

Homelessness outreach

This year’s edition of the Winter Preparedness Guide provides answers to questions that residents frequently ask the City’s 311 Customer Service team and via the City’s social media. Follow the City on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor all season for updates on its winter operations.

The Winter Preparedness Guide is available HERE. A Spanish version will be available in the coming weeks. Residents who need more information or answers to any City service-related questions throughout the year may call 311 or 616.456.3000.
