The Regional Resiliency Fund recently received a $40,000 grant from the DTE Energy Foundation, a release issued by Venture North Funding and Development said.
The Regional Resiliency Fund is a joint project between Traverse Connect and Venture North Funding. It is set up to assist businesses in Benzie, Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties recover from the negative impact COVID-19 has had on the economy.
The Fund recently awarded $200,000 to 78 small businesses. Grants are awarded in amounts up to $5,000.
To qualify for a grant, a business must be located within one of the three eligible counties, employ nine or fewer full-time employees, be a for-profit entity, not be in any stage of bankruptcy and must currently be open or plan to reopen when the executive order is lifted, the Traverse Connect website said.
Funds will be prioritized for businesses that have not received any COVID-19-related grants from other sources, including the U.S. Small Business Administration Payroll Protection Program or the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program.
