As part of the Belding Community Garden program, the City of Belding is sponsoring a Mini Free Food Pantry at the garden located across the street from Woodview Elementary School on Orchard Street.
The academic achievements of individual student-athletes during the 2021-22 season have been highlighted. Patrick McMahon concluded his career with consecutive CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American honors. Isaiah Schafer received recognition as the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Outdoor National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year and was also named CoSIDA Academic Second Team All-American, along with Noah Dooley, for their performance in track and field and academics.
Isaiah Schafer and Rachel Griffin have been recognized as the Davenport University Senior Athletes of the Year for the 2021-22 season. The announcement was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a selection process involving multiple nominees from both men's and women's sports teams. The final decision was made by the athletic department's head coaches.
