The Ionia City Council has given its approval to the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for fiscal years 2027 through 2032. The decision was made during a special meeting held on March 4, 2026.

The CIP serves as a guide for major projects and investments that the city expects to undertake over the next six years. This planning document is used to organize improvements for facilities, equipment, and infrastructure in Ionia. It also identifies possible funding sources for these projects.

According to city officials, capital projects included in the plan are those valued at $5,000 or more and have a useful life of at least one year. Examples include building upgrades, public safety vehicles, and buses for public transportation.

The full details of the approved program are available in both the Capital Improvement Plan Presentation FY 27-32 (PDF) and the Capital Improvement Plan FY 27-32 (PDF).
