FOIA Request to Ionia County Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

SE Grand Rapids News, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. for information regarding candidates running in the upcoming election.

The requested information includes details such as the candidates’ first, middle, and last names, the office they are running for, jurisdiction of the office, and party affiliation. Additionally, we have asked for all contact information for each candidate including their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe access to this public record is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have also indicated our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information to the public.
