Savanna Disbrow has been appointed as the assistant manager of athletic communications at Davenport University, effective July 21. The announcement was made by Ryan Thompson, assistant director of athletics for communications.

In her new position, Disbrow will be responsible for communication duties related to several programs. These include men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s rugby, women’s basketball, softball, men’s and women’s wrestling, men’s and women’s powerlifting, Division 2 and 3 hockey, as well as the band programs.

Disbrow graduated from Davenport University in April 2025 with a bachelor of business administration in sport management. She previously worked within the department as an athletic administrative assistant intern. In that role she supported daily operations and developed an interest in athletic communications.

As a former student-athlete who played for the Panthers softball team during her time at Davenport University, Disbrow brings experience from both administrative and athlete perspectives to her new role.

“She is eager to contribute to the promotion and storytelling of DU’s athletic teams,” according to the announcement.
