Nick Sabal and Nicole Miller have joined the Davenport University athletic department, as announced by Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Paul Lowden. Sabal will serve as the assistant director of athletics for facilities and operations, while Miller takes on the role of manager of ticketing and events.

Sabal transitions to Davenport University from Lewis University, where he held the position of assistant athletics director for facilities since November 2022. His responsibilities included planning, scheduling, and maintaining athletic facilities and event operations. He also managed over 20 student workers and coordinated programs for school sports teams to host events on campus.

“Nick has valuable experience working in DII athletics that will be of benefit as he takes the reins of our athletic facilities,” Lowden said. “Through the interview process, it is evident Nick is passionate about being a servant leader within college athletics. He values hard work with an emphasis on providing great customer service to all university stakeholders.”

Miller brings her experience from Grand Valley State’s athletic department, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a master’s degree in business administration. Her tenure included roles as a game and event operations student supervisor and facility and event operations graduate assistant.

“Nicole has worked not only in Division II athletics but also within the GLIAC, which will help in role as the manager of ticketing and events,” Lowden said. “We are excited to add her energy, experience and enthusiasm to the department.”
